Glenn Altschuler

Glenn Altschuler is the Thomas and Dorothy Litwin Professor of American Studies Emeritus at Cornell University. He earned his Ph.D. from Cornell in 1976 and has served in multiple administrative roles including Dean of Continuing Education (1991–2020) and Vice President for University Relations (2009–2013). His research focuses on U.S. political and cultural history, with books covering topics from rock 'n' roll's societal impact to Brooklyn's Protestant heritage.

He is a prolific commentator, with over 2,000 essays in outlets like The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal. Awards recognize his exceptional undergraduate teaching and advising, including the Weiss Fellowship and Carpenter Memorial Award.
