Glenn A. Chambers is Professor and Associate Dean of the Honors College at Michigan State University, specializing in Caribbean and Latin American history. His research examines social and cultural dimensions of the African diaspora, particularly migration patterns resulting from US economic expansion in the Caribbean.
Chambers has authored significant works including Race, Nation, and West Indian Immigration to Honduras and From the Banana Zones to the Big Easy, analyzing West Indian and Central American migration to New Orleans. His current project is a biography of jazz saxophonist Eric Dolphy, exploring Afro-Diasporic connections in musical innovation.
He co-edited New Frontiers in the African Diaspora and teaches courses on Caribbean history, migration studies, and African diaspora cultures. Chambers serves in leadership roles promoting interdisciplinary honors education.
