Gizem Akman

Gizem Akman is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Helsinki's Faculty of Science, Department of Computer Science. Her research focuses on privacy-enhancing technologies and authentication protocols for next-generation networks including 5G and edge computing systems.

Research interests span:

• Authentication and key agreement protocols
• Privacy-preserving mechanisms for mobile networks
• Security architectures for edge computing and IoT

Her publications demonstrate consistent focus on improving privacy and security in mobile networks, particularly through innovations in authentication key management and lightweight cryptographic protocols for emerging technologies like autonomous vehicles and multi-access edge computing.

Current research involvement includes the '6GBridge: 6G Test Network Finland' project where she contributes to developing next-generation network security solutions.
