Giuseppe Perale

Giuseppe Perale is a Full Professor of biomaterials at SUPSI (University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland), where he heads the Biomaterials Laboratory and the Bio-Environmental Technology Laboratory within the Department of Innovative Technologies. He holds a Master’s degree and Ph.D. in Bioengineering and Industrial Biomedical Engineering from Politecnico di Milano (Italy).

His research focuses on biomaterials for biomedical applications, including tissue engineering, controlled drug delivery, and regenerative medicine. Key projects include the SmartBonePep EuroStar Project (E!9624) and Swiss National KTI grants on bone substitutes and fracture fixation systems. He is an expert in resorbable materials like hydrogels and polymers, applying multidisciplinary approaches to sustainable medical device development.
