Giuseppe Marino

Giuseppe Marino is a Research Fellow at Complutense University of Madrid, specializing in Spanish Golden Age literature and cultural exchange. His work examines European eyewitness accounts of East Asian conflicts and their historical significance, utilizing previously unstudied manuscripts.

Marino's research bridges Spanish philology with East Asian history, particularly analyzing the cultural aftermath of military conflicts. His methodology combines archival research with cross-cultural analysis to document early modern intellectual exchanges.

As former associate professor at Fudan University, he co-founded their Spanish department and maintains collaborations with international institutions including The Ricci Institute for Chinese-Western Cultural History. Marino co-supervised PhD candidate Jaime Gonzalez during his ERC-funded work on the Aftermath project.
