Giuseppe Feola

Dr. Giuseppe Feola is an Associate Professor of Social Change for Sustainability at the Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development, Utrecht University. His work focuses on socioecological transformations, particularly grassroots movements challenging capitalist growth paradigms through

• prefigurative practices in agrifood systems
• political ecology of climate action
• critical analysis of sustainability theories
• evolutionary institutionalism in marginalized contexts

in Europe and Latin America.

Current research explores:

• post-growth imaginaries
• geographies of pesticide risk in Colombia
• adaptive capacity of Andean communities
• transdisciplinary methodologies for urban sustainability

with methodological innovations in integrated modeling and participatory action research.

He has led projects including:

• Governing sustainable agrifood systems in Colombia
• Anders Utrecht's postcapitalist mapping
• climate-water-food security nexus in Kazakhstan

funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation and British Academy. Collaborations span environmental governance, media studies, and organization theory.
