Giulia Bellon is a Researcher at the Leibniz Institute for Baltic Sea Research Warnemünde (IOW) since September 2024. Previously, she held roles such as Science Coordinator and Lecturer at Hurtigruten Expeditions (2023-2024), Lab Assistant at the Icelandic Marine and Freshwater Research Institute (2023-2024), and Research Skipper with the Icelandic Orca Project (2021-2023). Her expertise spans ocean and coastal management, cetacean conservation, and marine ecosystem restoration.

Professionally engaged in fieldwork, marine consultancy, and expedition education, Bellon has contributed to projects across Iceland, Costa Rica, Seychelles, and Ecuador. She collaborates within interdisciplinary teams in physical/biological oceanography, marine chemistry, and observational sciences at IOW.
