Giovanni Giuffrida

Giovanni Giuffrida is a researcher in the Department of Political and Social Sciences at the University of Catania, Italy, where he teaches Computer Science, Databases, Big Data, and Artificial Intelligence. He returned to Italy in 2004 through the national 'Rientro dei Cervelli' program after a successful career in the U.S. tech industry.

He founded Strategic Data Corporation in Los Angeles in 1999, which was acquired by Fox Interactive Media in 2007. In 2004, he co-founded Neodata Group in Catania, a company focused on intelligent solutions for publishers and advertisers, now employing over 40 people across Catania and Milan.
