Dr. Giorgos Spathas is a senior researcher and project leader at the Leibniz-Zentrum Allgemeine Sprachwissenschaft (ZAS), Berlin, leading the DFG-funded project Measures of Change in the Grammar of Verbal Predications (MeasChange). He holds a PhD in Linguistics from the Utrecht Institute of Linguistics OTS (2005-2010) and has held research positions at Humboldt University Berlin, University of Stuttgart, and MIT. His research focuses on the semantics of natural language interfaces with syntax and prosody, particularly in binding theory, focus theory, and argument structure alternations. Recent work emphasizes inner aspect and integrating event-decompositional/scalar analyses of verbal predication.
