Giorgo Alberti

Giorgio Alberti is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of French and Italian at Dartmouth College since 2016. He previously held academic roles as the Lauro de Bosis Fellow at Harvard University (2015) and a lecturer in Italian at Stanford University (2013-2015). His research focuses on the American reception and legitimation of post-WWII Italian literature, examining cultural transfer through translators, publishers, literary critics, and opinion makers.

• Education: Ph.D. in Italian Studies (Stanford University, 2012), M.A. in Italian Studies (Stanford), Laurea in Lettere (Italy), Laurea in Beni Culturali (France).

Alberti's expertise spans language pedagogy, the sociology of literature, and the transnational circulation of ideas. His published work includes a 2018 article analyzing Italo Calvino's role as both translator and author. He received the Lauro de Bosis Fellowship at Harvard for his research.
