Giorgio Fossaluzza

Giorgio Fossaluzza is a Full Professor at the Department of Cultures and Civilizations, University of Verona. His research focuses on Venetian painting from the late Middle Ages to the 18th century, with emphasis on attributive analysis and philological reconstruction of both prominent and lesser-known artists. He investigates regional artistic contexts including Trevigiano, Friuli, Polesine, Bergamasco, and the Adriatic regions of Istria, Dalmatia, and Puglia, as well as the Alpine arc (Feltrino, Bellunese, Cadore).

• Research: Explores devotional traditions, iconographic aspects, and cultural heritage preservation in Veneto and beyond.
• Projects: Includes digital archives of 16th-century poetic collections, systematic cataloging of Vivarini artists, and studies on Venetian art in Croatia.
• Teaching: Offers courses across bachelor's, master's, and PhD programs in art history, illustration, and cultural heritage management.

He actively collaborates with the Croatian Institute of Restoration and has held leadership roles in university governance committees.
