Giorgia Baldi

Giorgia Baldi is an Assistant Professor in Law at the School of Law, Politics and Sociology, University of Sussex, where she has been teaching since 2017. Her academic career includes roles such as Associate Lecturer at Birkbeck, University of London (2013-2017), and editorial positions as Associate Editor for journals like MAMSIE and Law & Critique. She holds a PhD in Law from Birkbeck, University of London (2017), alongside a BA and MA in Political Philosophy from the University of Bologna (Italy).

• Research focuses on intersections of law, gender, religion, and human rights, particularly in Islamic contexts and the Middle East.
• Teaching areas include Human Rights, Gender and Law, Legal Theory, and Public Law.

She is affiliated with multiple scholarly associations, including the Law and Society Association and the Association for Middle East Women’s Studies.
