Gil Cooper is an Instructional Professor of Communication at Pittsburg State University since 1992. Previously, he served as Director of Speech and Theatre at Moberly Area Community College (Missouri). He holds an M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction (speech communication emphasis) and a B.A. in Speech and Dramatic Arts from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
His teaching focuses on Acting, Presentational Communication, Small Group Communication, Persuasion Theory, and Communication Education. Beyond academia, he operates as a communication consultant, advising professional athletes, politicians, ministers, pageant contestants, medical schools, corporations, hospitals, and churches on presentation and group communication skills.
