Giacomo Petrarca

Giacomo Petrarca is an Assistant Professor in Theoretical Philosophy at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University, Milan, specializing in political theology, Jewish thought, and the intersection of philosophy and religious studies. He earned his PhD at the same university with a dissertation on the problem of Law in Paul and Franz Rosenzweig.

His research focuses on:

• Political Theology: Law, sovereignty, and theological-political critiques
• Jewish Thought: Spinoza, Hermann Cohen, Franz Rosenzweig, and scriptural interpretation
• Philosophy-Religion Dialogue: Hermeneutics, liturgy, and existential theology

Recent publications explore Sartre's anti-Semitism, Spinoza's prophecy problem, and Aristotelian biological metaphors. Awards include the Premio Sainati (2016) and Premio Pontecorvo (2012).
