Getu Hailu is a Professor and Chair in the Department of Food, Agricultural and Resource Economics (FARE) at the University of Guelph’s Ontario Agricultural College. He holds editorial roles for the Canadian Journal of Agricultural Economics and the Journal of Agribusiness in Developing & Emerging Economies. His research focuses on production economics, food demand analysis, co-operative economics, and price risk management.

Grants & Collaborations: Getu has led projects on genomic selection in dairy cattle (e.g., the Efficient Dairy Genome Project) and agribusiness strategies in moisture-stressed regions. Collaborations include work with the University of Hannover on farming systems in Ethiopia.
