Gerrit Koop

Dr. Gerrit Koop is an Associate Professor at the Department of Population Health Sciences, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Utrecht University, where he has worked since April 2023. Previously, he served as a University Lecturer (2013-2023) and Junior University Lecturer (2011-2013). His research focuses on udder health in ruminants (cows, sheep, goats, buffalo), using (molecular) epidemiological techniques to address practical questions in both the Netherlands and low/middle-income countries, contributing to food security and safety through sustainable ruminant health management.
