Gerhard Wagner

Prof. Dr. Gerhard Wagner is a Professor of Private Law, Business Law, and Economic Analysis of Law at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. He holds the Chair of Civil Law, Commercial Law and Economics and serves as academic director of the International Dispute Resolution (IDR) LL.M. program. His affiliations include roles at the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law.

He previously held professorships at the University of Bonn, University of Chicago, Erasmus University Rotterdam, and Renmin University of China. His research focuses on contractual obligations, tort law, arbitration, and digital law. Key honors include the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy Prize (2013) and leadership roles in legal organizations like the German Institution of Arbitration (DIS).
