Gerhard Stamer

Dr. Gerhard Stamer is a Lecturer at the Chair of Philosophy within the Faculty of Humanities and Cultural Studies at Otto-Friedrich University of Bamberg. He is also the founder and director of REFLEX, the Institute for Practical Philosophy, established in 1994, and founder of the Philosophy of the Times Foundation (2003). His academic journey includes studying under Theodor W. Adorno and Jürgen Habermas in Frankfurt/Main and completing his PhD at the University of Hanover under Oskar Negt.

Dr. Stamer's research spans ontology, metaphysics, epistemology, and the philosophy of mind, with particular focus on Aristotle, Kant, Hegel, and contemporary philosophical challenges. His work critically engages with neuroscience and cognitive science, arguing for the primacy of conscious thought in understanding human freedom and intelligence.
