Gerd Schmalz

Professor Gerd Schmalz is a mathematician at the University of New England's School of Science and Technology. His research specializes in CR geometry, combining complex analysis, differential geometry, Lie group theory and differential equations with applications in general relativity.

Current work involves constructing higher-dimensional spacetimes related to Sasakian manifolds. He previously led an ARC grant on 'Symmetries in Real and Complex Geometry' and maintains international collaborations in Australia, Italy, South Korea, Czech Republic, Russia and New Zealand. Teaches undergraduate mathematics courses including calculus and algebra.
