Gerard Powers

Gerard Powers is a Professor at the University of Notre Dame's Keough School of Global Affairs, serving as Director of Catholic Peacebuilding Studies and Coordinator of the Catholic Peacebuilding Network. His work bridges theology, ethics, and international peacebuilding practices.

His research focuses on:

• Ethics of the use of force
• Religion's role in conflict and peacebuilding
• Ethics in U.S. foreign policy
• Post-conflict reconciliation strategies

He has co-edited influential volumes on peacebuilding and collaborates with global Catholic institutions to address contemporary crises. Powers teaches courses on war/peace ethics and global affairs, while advising Catholic voters on social teachings.
