Gerard J. van Rooij

Gerard van Rooij is Full Professor and Chair of Sustainable Plasma Chemistry in the Department of Applied Physics at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). He serves as Senior Scientist and heads the Nonequilibrium Fuel Conversion group at DIFFER (Dutch Institute for Fundamental Energy Research). His research focuses on low-temperature plasma physics and chemistry, particularly CO2 activation using plasma for solar fuel production.

Academic background includes a PhD in Physics from the University of Amsterdam and an MSc in Physics from TU/e. He holds visiting positions at the Key Laboratory for Super Conductivity and New Energy Research in Chengdu, China.
