Geraldine Scott

Geraldine Scott is a Senior Lecturer in Physiotherapy and Undergraduate Admissions Tutor at Sheffield Hallam University's College of Health, Wellbeing and Life Sciences. She specializes in neurological physiotherapy, teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programs. She leads the Level 6 Complex Case Management module and co-leads the new MSc Physiotherapy (Pre-Registration) course. Her clinical background includes over 25 years in NHS neurological rehabilitation, stroke care, and private practice.

Her specialist interests focus on neurological management, traumatic brain injury (TBI), spasticity management, and exercise interventions in neurology. She pioneered clinical services in stroke rehabilitation and has taught internationally. Her recent work evaluates blended learning approaches in clinical education.

Gerry transitioned to academia in 2008, initially part-time, and has led modules in neurological physiotherapy and case management, integrating clinical expertise with academic research. She collaborates with practicing clinicians and service users in teaching.
