Gerald Kosicki

Gerald Kosicki is an Associate Professor Emeritus in the School of Communication at The Ohio State University. He has served as the undergraduate director of the Journalism Program Committee since 2015, overseeing the B.A.-Journalism degree program and The Lantern Media Group, which includes the student-run Lantern newspaper, TV station, and digital platforms. His research focuses on public opinion, political communication, survey methods, and media effects, with a recent emphasis on survey transparency and digital journalism practices. He has contributed to curriculum development, including proposals for interdisciplinary survey research minors, and has led efforts to modernize journalism education through multimedia newsroom facilities.

Education: B.A. in Communication (John Carroll University), M.A. in Journalism (Ohio State), Ph.D. in Mass Communications (University of Wisconsin-Madison).
