Geradine Gray serves as Head of School of Informatics and Cybersecurity at TU Dublin's Blanchardstown campus, a position she has held since the campus opened in 1999. She leads applied computing and cybersecurity programmes designed to prepare students for technical and security careers in contemporary industry.
Her research focuses on data science applications in education, specifically learning analytics—extracting insights from educational data to optimize student learning experiences and outcomes. She advocates for career-oriented computing education through industry-aligned pedagogy and emphasizes constructive, connected learning environments both inside and outside traditional classrooms.
Gray has secured over €1 million in research funding as Principal Investigator across multiple industry-academic collaborations. She has supervised more than 40 postgraduate students and maintains active involvement with the Society for Learning Analytics Research (SoLAR), with over 50 scholarly publications listed on Google Scholar spanning book chapters, journals, and conference proceedings.
