Georgios Terzis is a Professor in Communications at the Brussels School of Governance. He holds a PhD in Communication Science from Katholieke Universiteit Brussel and completed postdoctoral research at the University of Pennsylvania and University of Oxford, focusing on media and security.

His research spans media ethics, disinformation, media literacy, science communication, cultural diplomacy, and the right not to access the internet. He has led over 20 international research projects and contributed to 52 publications. Terzis co-founded the Journalism Studies Section of the European Communication Research and Education Association and serves as a reviewer for major journals and the European Commission.
Current projects include ReMed: Resilient Media for Democracy in the Digital Age, TITAN: AI for Citizen Intelligent Coaching against Disinformation, and CUPLACT: Culture for Peace Action through Collaboration and Technology, exploring intersections of media, democracy, and technology.
He is affiliated with the House of Sustainable Transitions and has presented extensively on disinformation and critical media literacy.
