Georgios Siviloglou is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physics at the University of Crete. His career includes postdoctoral research at MIT (2010-2014), the University of Amsterdam (2014-2018), and a role as an associate researcher (group leader) at the Southern University of Science and Technology (China) prior to joining the University of Crete in 2024.
He holds a BEng in Electrical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (2003) and a PhD in Optics from the University of Central Florida (2010).
His research focuses on quantum physics and optics, including ultracold quantum gases, topological phenomena, quantum simulation, nanophotonics, parity-time symmetry, non-diffracting optical waves (e.g., Airy rays), and laser physics.
He is affiliated with research structures such as the Skina Observatory, the Institute of Theoretical and Computational Physics, and the Crete Center for Quantum Complexity and Nanotechnology (CCQCN).
