Loyola University ChicagoAbout
Georgios Grigoriadis is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Exercise Science at Loyola University Chicago’s Parkinson School of Public Health. His research focuses on the role of exercise in preventing and treating cardiovascular disease, particularly in breast cancer survivors, and in populations such as multiple sclerosis patients, obese individuals, and those with Down syndrome. He teaches courses in exercise physiology, cardiovascular disease, and cancer rehabilitation.
Education: Ph.D. in Kinesiology, Nutrition and Rehabilitation (University of Illinois at Chicago), M.S. in Exercise Science (Northeastern Illinois University), B.S. in Physical Education and Sports Science (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki).
Research interests emphasize exercise interventions to improve cardiovascular function, addressing disparities in health outcomes across genders, age groups, and disease populations. Key areas include cancer survivorship, neurological disorders, obesity, and aging-related cardiovascular adaptations. His work explores mechanisms such as cerebral hemodynamics, arterial stiffness, and autoregulation under exercise stress.
Publications highlight studies on gender differences in cerebral blood flow responses during resistance exercise, cardiorespiratory fitness in breast cancer survivors, and vascular adaptations in Down syndrome. Ongoing projects aim to translate findings into clinical interventions to enhance physical function and quality of life.
