George W. Cogan is a Lecturer in Management at the Stanford Graduate School of Business (GSB), serving since 2013. He is a Partner at Bain & Company, a global management consulting firm, since 1989, and former global head of Bain's Technology practice. He holds an MBA from Stanford GSB (1989) and a BA in Physics from Harvard University (1980).
His professional expertise spans strategy development, organizational restructuring, and technology-driven industries, including semiconductors, computer hardware, software, and telecommunications. He advises on corporate strategy, marketing, new product development, sales effectiveness, and customer loyalty. His academic focus aligns with his professional experience, emphasizing strategic thinking and the convergence of computing/communications technologies.
Teaching: He instructs STRAMGT 573: 'Moore's Law and the Convergence of Computing and Communications' annually since 2021. This course explores strategic implications of technological advancements in computing and communications sectors.
