Professor George Theocharidis teaches Maritime Law & Policy at World Maritime University. He holds a Dr.iur degree and LL.M. from Cambridge, with expertise spanning maritime insurance, carriage of goods by sea, ship arrest procedures, and conflict of laws. As a member of the Piraeus Law Bar and Supporting Member of the London Maritime Arbitrators Association (LMAA), he maintains an active legal practice.
Professor Theocharidis contributes to IMO initiatives on fraudulent ship registration and serves as Joint Rapporteur for the Comité Maritime International on wrongful ship arrest liability. His publications include the co-authored textbook "Maritime Law" (5th edition, 2024) and numerous journal articles addressing contemporary maritime legal issues. He has developed training materials on Maritime Transport Policy for IMO capacity-building programs.
