George Randall Cutter (commonly known as Randy Cutter) is an Affiliate Assistant Research Professor at the University of New Hampshire. He works as a Research Oceanographer for NOAA Fisheries in San Diego, California, focusing on advanced tools for remotely sensing marine organisms.
- Developed underwater imaging systems and multibeam echosounder methods to enhance detection of fish and seabed characterization.
- Pioneered automated detection/classification systems for marine life in underwater imagery, including stereo-camera techniques for 3D seabed reconstructions.
- Lead developer of the NMFS Fisheries Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV).
