Dr. George Koulieris is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Durham University, where he leads research in computer graphics, visual perception, and virtual reality (VR) technologies. He is a core member of the VIViD Group and has held roles including teaching L3 Virtual and Augmented Reality and L4 Advanced Computer Graphics courses. Before joining Durham in 2018, he was a postdoctoral researcher at Inria (France) and a visiting scholar at UC Berkeley. His work focuses on near-eye displays, VR headset design, and perceptual optimization for immersive systems.
