George Justice

Dr. George Justice is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of History at the University of North Georgia. He holds a Ph.D. in History from the University of Georgia (2008). His research focuses on the sectional conflict leading to the American Civil War, constitutional history, and Georgia's historical development. Current projects include preparing his dissertation for publication and authoring articles on related topics.

Research Interests: Dr. Justice explores state constitutional development, popular sovereignty theories, nationalism, and the ideological foundations of American political institutions. His work bridges constitutional history with analyses of identity formation in the American South.

Teaching: He instructs courses on American History surveys, the Antebellum South, the Civil War, and Georgia History. His pedagogical engagement extends to fostering university-faculty partnerships in K-12 teacher training.

Publications: Includes the upcoming Courthouses of Georgia (2014) and contributions to the New Georgia Encyclopedia, alongside journal articles on academic outreach.
