George Frazis

Associate Professor George Frazis is an academic specializing in Hellenic studies at Charles Darwin University (CDU), where he coordinates Greek and Hellenic studies and the Greek In-Country Program. He holds a PhD from Flinders University, focusing on Modern Greek Literature and diaspora narratives. His research emphasizes oral histories of Greek immigration to Australia, particularly in the Northern Territory, and the development of e-learning platforms for language education.

He teaches Modern Greek Language and Literature, and has led annual three-week study programs in Greece since 2007. His current projects include documenting Hellenic family histories in Darwin and creating digital tools for distance education. He supervises research on topics such as Greek-Australian migration, cultural identity, and language pedagogy.

He has contributed to edited volumes like Perspectives on the Hellenic Diaspora and published on pioneer communities, religious institutions, and educational frameworks in multicultural contexts.
