George Edward Edenfield

Captain George Edward Edenfield is Professor of Practice and Head of the Department of Maritime Transportation at Texas A&M University at Galveston. He holds an MA in Transportation and Logistics Management from American Military University and a BS in Marine Transportation from the United States Merchant Marine Academy. His professional expertise includes navigation safety, maritime regulations, and curriculum development.

Edenfield serves as Vice Chair of the U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Marine Personnel Advisory Committee and contributes to IMO model course development. Awards include the Maritime Administration Bronze Medal (2020) and USDOT Transportation Safety Award (2014) for curriculum innovation. His publications focus on maritime education standards and simulator training.
