George Abercrombie

George Abercrombie is an Adjunct Professor at Duke University's Fuqua School of Business, where he teaches in the Health Sector Curriculum. He previously served as President and CEO of Hoffmann-La Roche Inc.'s North American Pharmaceuticals Operations (2001-2009) and Senior Vice President of U.S. Commercial Operations at Glaxo Wellcome. He holds a pharmacy degree from the University of North Carolina and an MBA from Harvard University.

His career spans executive leadership roles in major pharmaceutical companies, including roles at Merck and GlaxoSmithKline. He currently serves on several corporate boards, including Biocryst Pharmaceuticals, Hessian Pharmaceuticals, and Brickell Biotech, focusing on audit, governance, and commercialization committees. He is also a member of the North Carolina Board of Science, Technology and Innovation and chairs the Duke University Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences Advisory Board.
