Georg Pabst

Georg Pabst is an Associate Professor at the Karl-Franzens University Graz, affiliated with the Institute of Molecular Biosciences. His research focuses on the structure and function of biological membranes, combining approaches from biophysics, molecular biology, biochemistry, soft matter physics, and physical chemistry. He works in the Biophysics group at the University of Graz and is involved in the Doctoral School of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry.

His team investigates membrane properties and their influence on cellular processes, particularly studying phospholipid asymmetry, membrane protein function, and responses to active substances. Research employs a 'bottom-up approach' recreating biological membranes in laboratory settings.
