Georg Neugebauer

Georg Neugebauer is a researcher at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna, affiliated with the Department of Agricultural Sciences and the Institute of Spatial Planning, Environmental Planning and Land Management. Holding a doctorate in Natural Sciences and Technology (2017) and a degree in Landscape Planning (2005), he specializes in integrating spatial planning, renewable energy systems, and accessibility in tourism. His work focuses on urban energy systems, wastewater heat recovery, and sector coupling, with projects funded by the EU, Austrian government, and private entities.

Georg leads transnational initiatives like the ISTER Project (Roman route mapping) and PLENTY-Life (municipal capacity building), while advising 6 university theses. As a reviewer for journals like Water and Energies, he contributes to scientific discourse. He also serves on the Advisory Board of Energiegemeinschaft Region USW Eggenburg (2024-2026).
