Dr. Georg Köglmeier is a Senior Lecturer and Senior Academic Councillor at the Chair of Bavarian Regional History, Institute of History, University of Regensburg. He has held academic positions since 1994 and currently manages the workgroup and webmaster functions of his institute.
- PhD in History (1998) with focus on Bavarian revolutionary councils
- Master's in History and Political Science (1990)
Research Interests include Bavarian regional history, political and social structures of the 19th-20th centuries, city/local history methodology, archival science, and digital humanities. His work spans medieval royal residences, World War I studies, and modern historical lexicons.
Recent publications focus on European urban history (2025), medieval royal palaces (2023), and revolutionary institutions (2020). He contributes to Historisches Lexikon Bayerns and edits Regensburger Beiträge zur Heimatforschung.
