Geoffrey Hudson

Geoffrey Hudson is an Associate Professor and Exercise Science Undergraduate Program Coordinator at the University of South Alabama's Department of Health, Kinesiology, and Sport within the College of Education & Professional Studies. He holds a Ph.D. in Exercise, Nutrition, & Preventive Health (Baylor University, 2010), an M.A. in Human Performance (University of Alabama, 2006), and a B.S. in Chemistry (University of Alabama, 2004). His research focuses on obesity prevention, type II diabetes, and body composition analysis, with current projects including the AVATAR Study on 3D body scanning and digital anthropometry. He teaches courses like Exercise Physiology and Research Methods in Health, emphasizing critical thinking and practical application. Past roles include Assistant Professorships at the University of Southern Mississippi and George Washington University. Dr. Hudson serves on academic committees, reviews manuscripts for sports nutrition journals, and promotes community health through outreach. His work integrates exercise science, nutrition, and technology to address metabolic and chronic disease challenges.
