Geoffrey Hooke

Geoffrey Hooke is a full-time employee at Perth Clinic and holds the role of Adjunct Associate Professor at The University of Western Australia's School of Psychological Science. His roles at Perth Clinic include Director of Information Technology and Research, Executive Team Member, Chair of the Clinical Improvement team (Research team), and Clinician. With over 20 years of collaboration with UWA Psychology, he has been pivotal in enabling research at Perth Clinic and has mentored 17 PhD students whose theses contributed significantly to his research projects.

His research focuses on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Suicide Prevention, Mental Health Outcomes, and Electroconvulsive Therapy. Key recent work includes predictive models for suicide attempts, self-injury prevention, and depression treatment efficacy. He co-led the 'Development of a Vulnerability Index to Predict Adolescent Suicide' grant funded by the Young Lives Matter Foundation (2020).

Geoffrey's contributions have been recognized in the Handbook of Psychotherapy and Behaviour Change (2013), and his work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals related to mental health and well-being.
