Geoffrey Herman is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Near Eastern Studies at Cornell University. He has held academic positions at institutions including The Jewish Theological Seminary of America and has been a post-doctoral fellow at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Harvard University, and the University of Geneva.

He explores interreligious interactions and leadership structures in Late Antique Jewish and Syriac traditions.
Geoffrey Herman has received multiple prestigious fellowships and is currently working on a comprehensive study of Sasanian Jewry's history.
