Geoff Boughton

Associate Professor Geoff Boughton is an Adjunct Associate Professor in the College of Science and Engineering at James Cook University. He holds a PhD in Structural Engineering and has extensive expertise in wind loads on housing and building resilience under extreme weather conditions. His work bridges academic research, national standards development, and practical disaster response.

His research interests include:

• Structural and wind engineering
• Disaster resilience and mitigation

• Housing performance in cyclonic regions
• Sustainable and resilient construction in tropical and Pacific environments
