Dr. Gen Eickers is an Assistant Professor (non-TT) at the Department of Cognitive Science, University of Osnabrück, focusing on Philosophy of Mind and Social Epistemology. Previously, they served as Deputy Professor for Epistemology at the University of Bayreuth. Their research intersects philosophy with sociology, psychology, and trans/queer studies, emphasizing emotion, social cognition, scripts, and marginalized identities. Current work explores emotional injustice and digital social practices.
Education: Ph.D. from the Berlin School of Mind and Brain (Humboldt and Freie Universität Berlin), supervised by Jan Slaby and Jesse Prinz. Postdoctoral fellowships include the Bavarian Gender Equality Grant (2023) and roles at the University of Education Ludwigsburg.
Research interests span scripts in social interaction, emotional marginalization, social construction of emotions, and digital media's impact on LGBTQ+ communities. They supervise theses in philosophy of mind, social epistemology, and interdisciplinary topics.
