Gemma Bend

Gemma Bend is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Management at the Huddersfield Business School, University of Huddersfield. Her work bridges Disability Studies, Gender Studies, and Organizational Ethics, focusing on inclusivity and identity dynamics in workplaces.

Her research explores how intersectionality, embodiment, and materiality shape experiences of disabled workers, particularly in sheltered vs. mainstream employment. Publications highlight performativity, power dynamics, and ethical management practices.

Recent articles analyze neurodiversity in the workplace, masculinity and disability, and social relational models of identity, reflecting a multidisciplinary focus on organizational culture, employee well-being, and UN Sustainable Development Goals.
