Geir Ersland

Dr. Geir Ersland is Professor in the Department of Physics and Technology at the University of Bergen, leading research in sustainable subsurface resources. He heads the Reservoir Physics research group focused on energy technology and CO₂ storage.

His research investigates subsurface storage solutions for energy transition, including hydrogen storage in porous media and carbon capture technologies. Recent work emphasizes microfluidic modeling of fluid dynamics in geological formations and hydrate-based sealing mechanisms for CO₂ storage.
