Dr. Geev Mokryani is an Associate Professor in Electrical Power Systems and Smart Grids at the University of Bradford's Faculty of Engineering and Informatics. Prior to his current role, he served as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Imperial College London. He holds an honorary title of Visiting Senior Research Fellow and leads the Energy and Smart Grids Research Group, supervising 7 PhD students and managing 2 PDRAs and 2 RAs. He is also the Program Leader for the MSc in Smart Grids and Energy Systems.
His research focuses on optimizing distribution networks with high renewable energy integration, energy storage systems, and smart grid resilience. Key interests include artificial intelligence applications in power systems, demand-side management, and multi-vector energy systems. He has led projects such as the British Academy-funded initiative on microgrid optimization and an Innovate UK project (Pi-CREST) on mini-grid planning with renewables.
Dr. Mokryani has secured funding from the Royal Academy of Engineering and British Academy, contributing to over 70 peer-reviewed publications, 4 books, and 2 book chapters. His H-index stands at 27 (Google Scholar). He serves as an Associate Editor for IET Renewable Power Generation, IET Generation Transmission and Distribution, and IET Journal of Engineering, and Editor of the IEEE Smart Grid Newsletter.
Professional memberships include CIGRE Working Groups C1.40 and joint groups C1/C4.36/C1/C6/CIRED.37, and he is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and Senior Member of the IEEE.
