Geert Roovers

Dr. Ir. Geert Roovers serves as a part-time lecturer in Soil and Subsurface at Saxion University of Applied Sciences, where he heads the Sustainable Areas and Soil Transitions research group. He simultaneously works as a senior consultant at Antea Group specializing in spatial decision-making processes, water management, and infrastructure development.

Roovers graduated in Civil Engineering from Delft University of Technology in 1993 and completed his doctorate in 2012 with a dissertation examining the interaction between systems approaches and decision-making in river management. His research consistently explores the complex interplay between technology and stakeholders, order and complexity, governance structures, and various actors within water management systems.
