Geert Houben

Geert Houben is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of Utrecht University and the University Medical Center Utrecht. He serves as Principal Scientist in Food Allergy and Immunotoxicology at TNO (Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research), focusing on food-borne risk factors for allergic and inflammatory diseases.

Research Focus: His work centers on food allergy, immunotoxicology, risk assessment, and data mining of cohort studies to identify health-modulatory food compounds for novel interventions. Previously, he led TNO's Food Safety research and services before refocusing on academia in 2014.
