Gavin Parsons

Gavin Parsons is a Lecturer at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig (University of the Highlands and Islands) teaching in the BA Gaelic and Development program and MSc Material Culture and Gàidhealtachd History. His research compares Highland Scotland and Norwegian socioeconomic systems, particularly crofting sustainability and traditional boatbuilding.

As an active crofter and town clerk, Parsons integrates practical community engagement with academic work. He contributes to the 'Am Bàta' project, preserving marine culture through youth boatbuilding education.
