Gavin Lambert

Professor Gavin Lambert is Director of the Iverson Health Innovations Research Institute and a Professor at Swinburne University of Technology. He holds a PhD from Monash University and has over 30 years of clinical and preclinical research experience. Previously, he worked at the Baker Heart & Diabetes Institute and held postdoctoral positions at the University of Gothenburg and Hospital Necker-Enfants Malades. He currently serves as Company Secretary for Hypertension Australia and has held roles on committees like the Biomedical Research Victoria Scientific Advisory Council and the NHMRC Early Career Scientists panel.

His research focuses on chronic disease mechanisms, particularly the sympathetic nervous system's role in conditions like heart disease, diabetes, hypertension, and obesity. Key areas include digital health, bioengineering, AI for health, and neuromodulation. He has led over 600 publications and secured grants from bodies like NHMRC and the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation.
